45hz039 – Introducing : Akkord
April 11, 2012 § Leave a Comment
Both production outfit and record label, the collective members of Pennine dwellers Akkord meandered down from the hills surrounding Manchester and found a new home within the city.
On March 5th this year their debut release hit stores and the limited run of 300 vinyl sold out almost instantly, which in this day and age is an increasingly rare occurrence.
Musically they have no set genre, instead choosing to meander and straddle techno, dubstep and ambient sounds. Not only do they do this effortlessly, their sound design is also on a whole different level to their peers. Everything has its purpose and role within the music and nothing ever seems like its out of place which can’t often be said for multi genre outfits.
Don’t take our word for it, just give their mix for Electronic Explorations a little whirl.
Free track Submerged which was given away to promote the first release can still be found over on the XLR8R website by clicking HERE.
